Hello Folks! and welcome to www.registeredmaineguide.com and www.juniormaineguide.com. This is Nate Saunders and I run Stoney's Guide Service in Fairfield, Maine. The purpose of this website and Stoney's Guide Service is to:

Registered Maine Guides are tested and licensed by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, which includes the Maine Warden Service. The requirements for licensing are rigorous. The primary role of a Registered Maine Guide is to organize and guide day and overnight trips in the Maine outdoors for a variety of activities that include recreation (canoeing, whitewater canoeing, hiking, backpacking, ATVs, snowmobiling, boating, and more), open water fishing, ice fishing, tidewater fishing, hunting, trapping, sea-kayaking, and whitewater rafting. The primary responsibilities of every Registered Maine Guide are the safety of his or her sports and the adherence to applicable laws such as those that cover boating, fishing, hunting, fires, firearms, ATVs, and snowmobiles. Registered Maine Guides can have a wealth of knowledge and skill in the areas that they guide, and some are very interesting characters!

I am a Registered Maine Guide for recreation and fishing trips on inland waters and I am a member of the Maine Wilderness Guides Organization. My specialties are day and overnight canoe trips, primitive camping, whitewater canoeing, hiking, backpacking trips, and outdoor living skills in general. Although I rarely take out trips for hire at this time, there are several services that I can provide for you via this website and as a Registered Maine Guide. I welcome you (canoeists, hikers, outdoor and wildlife enthusiasts, fellow Registered Maine Guides, sportsmen, sportswomen, sporting camp owners, youth camp owners, youth, and parents) to review the services and resources available here.

And if you can't find the information you want to find on this website, just send me an e-mail by clicking here:

For the legal folks, this website is privately owned and operated by Stoney’s Guide Service. Although not affiliated with the Maine Inland Fisheries & Wildlife Department or the Maine Youth Camping Association, many thanks are expressed to both of these groups for their important contributions to all of us who love being outdoors in Maine!
